What is Psychotherapy and what can it do?

Psychotherapy can help us change the way we think, behave, or feel. There are times in our lives when the way we are doing things just isn’t working. The good news is that we can make changes; they begin with an assessment by a psychotherapist. An assessment can help to identify what kind of problem exists (if any) and what can be done to help. With guidance we can change the ways we think and behave in order to change the way we feel. That is where psychotherapist can give us the tools to make the changes for ourselves.

What is Psychiatry and what can it do?

Psychiatry is the specialized branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who perform psychiatric assessments in order to gather information about your symptoms, concerns, and feelings. This information helps the psychiatrist form an opinion about your diagnosis and be able to effectively plan for treatment that may include medication and counseling.
